This song was inspired one night after I came home from choir practice at Saddleback Church. We had an extraordinary night where a song had touched us in a special way, reminding us of why God told us to love our neighbors. When we love God, He loves others through us. This is at the core of the message I want to deliver. It is when we actively love others that we begin to live. When we are living for ourselves, we die. When we can put others needs above our own, we touch another person with God's love. This is why I decided to support the GINA for Missing Persons organization. It is a symbolic and very real step toward demonstrating what I want to do and lead others to do, to care for and love others with God's love. I am inspired by Jannel Rap's example in what she has done in a very practical way. I don't want to stop there, however, there are many ways to do this. I need to look for ways to meet the physical needs of others (the poor and hungry), the emotional needs of others (people who are hurting), become more hospitable (making others feel welcomed and valued), and offer the hope of a lasting meaning and purpose to other people's lives. Here is the lyrics to the song:
I Love You
I need you, you need me too
We both need each other, its the way its meant to be
Pray for me, and I'll pray for you
I'll be there for you, you'll know that God loves you too
Stand with me, I'll stand with you too.
We both know that Love is true, and live in harmony.
(Chorus)
I love you, you love me too
I need you to survive, without you I am not alive.
I love you, you love me too
You need me to survive, without me you are not alive.
It is God's will, that we care for each other
and meet each others needs, we're not meant to be alone.
