The Story Behind Language of Angels

This song came to me after hearing a sermon about learning to worship instead of worrying.  I saw in this sermon how much power there is in worshiping, that many of us fail to see.  When we are part of God's family, we can go to Him for help and He wil give it to us, but it takes the faith to do what may not make sense to us at the time.

This song starts with a picture of what the Israelites felt like when they were captive in Babylon, which is an illustration of what we do when we fret about our personal circumstances.  We all tend to worry about our finances, our relationships, or our careers.  In the big picture, the problems we have are small.  There are things we can learn from these times, and we can get our strength to get through them with faith in God.

There is a story in 2 Chronicles 20 about king Jehoshaphat who was going to be attacked by his enemies from all sides.  He decided to ask the Lord what to do, because he saw no way to survive this.  He prayed.  He had much faith in God and recognized that he was powerless against the powerful armies about to attack.  He realized that worrying about this wasn't going to help, so he decided to depend on God to get him through it.  He realized that the battle was not his, but God's.  This is because he knew it was God's will that he would not be defeated.

He saw the battle as God's battle, not his.  In 2 Chron. 20:21 it says that he chose men to be singers to the Lord, to praise Him because He is holy and wonderful.  They marched in front of the army and sang a song that said, "Thank the Lord, because His love endures forever,"  As they began to sing, the armies that were attacking began fighting each other until they were all destroyed.  After it was all over, king Jehoshaphat was able to gather the plunder, which was a great blessing to his people.

The songs of angels are songs of worship.  That is the language they speak.  When we sing songs of worship, and we sing them to God, We make God the leader of our personal army, and He has the power to overcome our enemies.  If we are living His will in our lives, we cannot fail.  It is God's problem when things aren't going well, not ours.  So all we need to do is worship God instead of worrying.  When you find yourself sinking into worrying about what is going on in your life, stop and start worshiping God.  The anxiety will subside, and if you trust God to get you through it, He will honor that.

I am learning to stop worrying so much about things.  I has done wonders for reducing my stress.  It has given me a great sense of peace.  When I don't have to worry about things and feel the pressure of them on my shoulders, it makes a tremendous difference in my life.  I have so much more energy to do the things I need to do.  When you hear this song, take it as a reminder.  Make this your new slogan, "Don't Worry, Worship."
